Teaching online as a Certified Live Online (LOL) Teacher

Are you a teacher prepared for the future and do you really want to get the most out of online education? Are you ready to share your knowledge and skills with your students through distance learning? Follow this training and turn your offline learning path into a new, improved online variant. In this training we teach you everything about online teaching, from design to implementation!

Get acquainted with all aspects of live online teaching

In this hands-on training you will be introduced - under the guidance of an experienced LOL trainer - to all aspects of live online teaching. The training starts with an exploration of all the online possibilities you can use as a teacher to achieve the desired learning goals. Then you will be challenged to create an online learning path step-by-step using the various tools at your disposal. Not only live online teaching will be covered. You will start with the design of a learning trajectory in which you will also consider how you can optimally use other available online tools to put your students to work outside the classroom.

After setting up your design, you will concretely set up 1 session and develop the corresponding online learning materials. Of course, during the course you will get plenty of room to practice and experiment with the learning interventions you have devised. The training concludes with a theory and a practice test.

Learning Objectives

As a certified LOL teacher, you will be able to:

  • Independently create an online lesson design in accordance with the LOL methodology
  • Name and explain the (learning) theories that underlie the LOL methodology
  • Name and integrate different available synchronous and a-sychronous forms of learning into your lesson design
  • Incorporate all relevant components of the head-to-tail model into the design of live online sessions
  • Develop the necessary teaching materials and make them suitable for the live online sessions and self-study
  • Independently start a live online session and get the session ready to go
  • Activate students during the session by using interaction and activating work forms
  • Resolve the most common technical questions and issues independently
  • Provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment

This live online training consists of 7 sessions of 1.5 hours.

Certification

This training course is certified according to the NEN-EN ISO 17024:2012 standard for Person Certification. The certificate is valid for 3 years. The cost of a retake is €95,- excl.

LOL Academy

You follow the live online sessions via the LOL-academy. This is the training platform of Learning Connected, where we have bundled all our knowledge about live online communication. When you follow a training or workshop with us, you will have access to the LOL-academy as a participant:

Live Online Practice Test and Theory Test

Time investment & homework.

This training consists of:

  • A test session of 0.5 hours and 7 training sessions of 1.5 hours.
  • To prepare for each session, you will complete an average of 2 hours of homework, with the exception of the practice session. Count on about 8 hours of preparation time for this.
  • Finally, to conclude the training, you will take a written test on location. The preparation will take about 5 hours. If you need to make a re-examination, this will cost €95,- excl.
  • The course requires a total of approximately 40 hours of time investment.

What do you need?

All meetings are conducted in a live online learning environment. You follow the sessions via your computer. We expect active participation from you as a student during the sessions. To be able to participate you need:

  • A computer or laptop with a sound card.
  • Preferably a working headset with microphone and a webcam. Or else a built-in microphone
  • A stable internet connection, recommended is a fixed connection between the computer and the router.
  • Rights to install software on the PC and to change audio settings. If you want to participate from your work location and/or with a work computer, please note that the ICT department may need to ensure that you are allowed to install the necessary software and that you can participate in the session via a connection that allows transmission of sound and images over the Internet!
Register

After you purchase the course you will receive a confirmation email and an email with the login instructions for the live online (LOL) learning environment. In the learning environment all course material is available to which you will have unlimited access immediately. We also ask you to sign up for a test session with one of our trainers, in which you will be prepared for the first real live online session. During this test session, we will make sure that all the technology is working properly and that you are familiar with the live online classroom so you can participate in the first lesson without worry. This course will start when a minimum of 5 students have registered. If the course cannot start due to insufficient enrollment we will inform you a.s.a.p. and refund the purchase price within 30 days after cancellation.

Incompany

We can organize all our trainings and workshops as an in-company course. We tailor the training as much as possible to the practice and learning needs. By means of an online intake questionnaire we map out your needs and knowledge as accurately as possible, so that we can offer you a tailor-made training.

In addition, we can also provide broader guidance on the transition from offline to online communications through consulting, helping to develop a toolbox, or tailored guidance for professionals. And so there are many more options. We are happy to think along with you.

It is possible to participate in our training on the basis of open registration (price per participant). For an in-company training a price per group applies. For the group price we charge 8 times the price per participant. For this amount, 15 people can participate in the group training. If, for organizational reasons, it is desirable to increase the group size, this can be done in consultation. In that case, separate price agreements are made.
